Permits for Land and Building Development in St Lucia
All land developments require the developer to first obtain the permission of the Development Control Authority (DCA). The DCA is governed by the Physical Planning and Development Act No. 29 of 2001 and its amendments of 2005.
The developer must submit the application including requirements such as, cover letter, drawings, land documents, survey plans, and Pre-DCA Approvals (e.g. health, Fire, EIA). Payment of the required fees must be made before applications are registered. (See DCA Checklist for full requirements and fees). An application can be made for approval in principle or full approval.
The approval process by the DCA is completed in approximately 42 days.
For more information, please review the DCA checklist and fee schedule
